The Center for Arts Education

The Center for Arts Education (CAE) is committed to stimulating and sustaining quality arts education as an essential part of every child’s K-12 education in the New York City public schools. AER founder Russell Granet, formerly CAE’s Director of Professional Development, is currently a coach for its School Arts Support Initiative (SASI). This school-based program was designed to help underserved middle schools develop, enhance, and sustain instruction in and through the arts. In his continued association with CAE, Granet is the senior consultant on the Teaching Artist Training Institute (TATI), created for artists interested in working with students on the autism spectrum, and, as an outgrowth of TATI, helped to develop a teaching artist training program in Staten Island.
