Disability and the Arts Training
Working with students inevitably means working with students with disabilities. Through its workshops in this area, AER provides:
  • an overview of disability, best practices with diverse learners,
  • practical artistic diagnostic activities,
  • a review of student referral process,
  • an overview of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and what they entail,
  • effective arts lesson plan strategies, and
  • strategies aimed at determining children’s needs based on what they say and show, rather than on the textbook definitions of a specific disability.
